The Year 13 Maths Grade-Up prize draw: terms

Draw reference: grade-up-1 · Last updated 3 October 2026

The short version

Full terms

  1. Promoter. Raghu Gathibandhe trading as A* Coach, London, United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].
  2. Who can enter. UK residents aged 18 or over who are the parent or legal guardian of a student in Year 12 or Year 13 (or the equivalent years of school or college) who is studying A-level Maths in the 2026/27 academic year and expects to sit it in summer 2027 or summer 2028. The promoter, its staff and their families can't enter.
  3. How to enter. Complete the entry form at astarcoach.com/win between the time the draw opens and 11:59pm UK time on Sunday 11 October 2026. Entries after that time won't count. Entry is free and no purchase is needed. One entry per household; extra entries from the same household or the same phone number are ignored.
  4. The questions on the form. We ask four questions to check you can enter (parent or guardian, Year 12 or 13, A-level Maths, UK). We also ask for their predicted grade and whether we may call you if you don't win. Those last two answers have no effect on whether you can enter or your chance of winning.
  5. The prize. One prize: one place on the Year 13 Maths Grade-Up for the entrant's child, an 8-week programme normally sold at £597. It includes daily A-level Maths lessons on astarcoach.com, a marked exam paper every two weeks, reminders when the student misses a day, and progress updates to the parent. The place must start by 31 October 2026 unless we agree a later date. There's no cash alternative and the prize can't be transferred, except to a sibling who meets rule 2. We may substitute a prize of equal or greater value if something outside our control makes that necessary.
  6. The draw. The winner is drawn at random from all valid entries on Monday 12 October 2026, using a computer random selection, and the draw is recorded (date, time, number of entries, method). The draw is supervised by someone independent of the selection.
  7. Telling the winner. We'll contact the winner by phone and email on the day of the draw. If we can't reach them, or they don't reply, within 7 days, we'll draw another winner the same way.
  8. Everyone who doesn't win. After the draw, every entrant who didn't win will be offered a founding-family place on the Grade-Up at £297 instead of £597, open for 7 days after we contact them. This is an offer, not a prize, and there's no obligation to buy. We contact you about it by phone only if you said yes to a call on the entry form; otherwise we'll tell you by email.
  9. The Grade-Up Guarantee (for paying families). If the student does one lesson a day and a marked paper every two weeks for 8 weeks, and doesn't go up a full grade, we refund every penny. "A full grade" means 12 marks out of 100, comparing the average of their last 3 marked papers with their first marked paper. Lessons and papers are logged automatically on the site.
  10. Results. We'll publish the winner's first name and county at this page within 14 days of the draw, with their consent; you can also email us to ask who won. If the winner objects to publication, we'll still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority if asked.
  11. Your data. We use entry details to run the draw, contact the winner and send you the result. We call you about a founding-family place only if you said yes on the form. To measure our advert, we send Meta a hashed (scrambled) copy of your email address and phone number. Full details: astarcoach.com/privacy.
  12. Meta. This promotion isn't sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Meta, Facebook or Instagram. Entrants release Meta from all liability connected with it.
  13. Changes. If something outside our reasonable control stops the draw running fairly, we may change or cancel it, and we'll tell entrants. We won't change it in a way that disadvantages entrants without a good reason.
  14. Law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
